This haunting refrain « Be with me in my fantasy » was heard on Goldmin in 2021 as a sample by Einka on his track « Here With Me. » And so here is the original song, first released in 1985, here freshly remastered from the original recording. A 6 minute Italo-Disco affair that was surprisingly released only on a label in Argentina. « Fantasy » is the quintessential dark and emotive Italo soundtrack. A gem that shines in this genre with such rare company as Giusy Dej - Follow Me or Riccelli - Don’t Set Me Free,
a handful of tracks which couldn't be called "forgotten" as they were simply buried alive. Blame it on bad luck, too little promotion or a lackluster music industry. In any event, it is brilliant music that sounds even more relevant today. We have all heard countless bands and songs that offer poor impersonations of this singular sound. No doubt movie directors, tv show runners, and music supervisors would be wise to dip into the golden well of old vinyl sometimes! Anyway, here it is: Alexandra’s masterpiece « Fantasy », a song that favors pop and 80’s kitsch but still possesses a certain decadent class, a sort of divine and dark decadence that fits for an epic David Lynch scene or a classic twilight drive through the hills of the Amalfi Coast.
